The main ingredient of Rejuran is Polynucleotide (PN) or Salmon DNA, which closely resembles human DNA. PN is proven to be highly compatible to human skin without causing adverse effects.

Rejuran stimulates the regeneration of new skin cells which significantly improves skin elasticity, both in the dermis and epidermis. The DNA fragments stimulate regeneration and repair damaged skin while reducing unwanted inflammation. This helps keep the treated area young and healthy by delivering bio-compatible PN directly into the skin, improving its overall physiological condition from the inside out.

There are three Rejuran products currently available in Australia: Rejuran Healer, Rejuran i, and Rejuran S. All three products contain the same active ingredient (polynucleotide) but come in various viscosity.

• Rejuran Healer is used for whole face rejuvenation to improve fine lines, skin texture, skin tone, and to reduce the effects of ageing and sun damage.

• Rejuran i is a lower viscosity product that is used for more delicate skin such as the skin around the eyes to address crepiness, wrinkles and dark circles.

• Rejuran S is a higher viscosity product used to improve the appearance of scars and acne marks.

Although Rejuran is a very safe treatment with no reported side effects, like most medical treatments please do not have treatment in these instances listed below:

• Pregnant and breastfeeding women

• Platelet Dysfunction syndrome

• Hypofibrinogenemia

• Active acne

• Broken skin, wounds and skin infections

• Active cold sores in the treated area

• Anti-coagulation therapy

• Malignancy (i.e. cancer)

• Critical Thrombocytopenia

• Hemodynamically unstable

• Auto-immune Diseases

• Sepsis

• Acute/Chronic infections

• Chronic Liver Disease

Unrealistic expectations: Rejuran provides a gradual improvement to the skin over time. Individuals with unrealistic expectations or those seeking immediate dramatic results may not be a suitable candidate for this treatment.

Before proceeding with Rejuran, you will attend an in-person consultation with a Luxury Aesthetics nurse to assess your needs. This consultation will determine if Rejuran is the most effective treatment option for your concerns. If it is, you will complete a comprehensive assessment and treatment plan and be provided a quote based on your requirements.

If you have an allergy to fish or seafood, it is recommended that Rejuran is not suitable for you.

Before you commence Rejuran, please follow the below:

• Conduct a comprehensive medical consultation with a Luxury Aesthetics nurse to discuss your medical history, allergies and medications

• Avoid taking blood thinning medications (e.g. Ibuprofen, aspirin) or supplements (e.g. fish oil, vitamin E) for 3-4 days before treatment, to reduce possible risk of bruising

Due to the natural biological ageing process, Rejuran results are not permanent. Initially, results may appear subtle. Collagen stimulation initiated by Rejuran tends to have a gradual and cumulative effect, with results becoming noticeable after a series of sessions. Improvements can take up to 3 months before improvements are visible, because the beneficial effects rely on the collagen stimulation which takes time.

Results from Rejuran last on average 6 to 12 months with maintenance treatments recommended. Individual results will vary depending on factors including general health, age, skin type, diet, smoking and alcohol consumption.

Optimal results are achieved through repeated treatments which produce cumulative benefits, as the skin is stimulated to produce its own natural collagen, repair and renew. It is recommended treatments are initially performed once per month for 3 months, followed by 2 maintenance treatments per year.

There is no right age to commence your journey with Rejuran. Rejuran cannot be performed on people who are under 18 years of age, pregnant or breastfeeding. It is always easier to slow the process of wrinkles developing, by looking after your skin, using high grad medical skin care and always use solar protection.

Unfortunately, you cannot get wrinkle relaxers whilst either pregnant or breastfeeding. This is due to no clinical trials being done to assess the safety in pregnancy or breastfeeding women, meaning there may be potential risks to you or your baby.

Before proceeding with this treatment option, we require an initial consultation in clinic. Your nurse will assess your needs to ensure that REJURAN injections are firstly, the most effective treatment option for your concerns. Secondly, a full assessment and quote depending on areas to be treated. In this initial consultation, you will sign a consent form to ensure that you fully understand the procedure, as well as risks and potential complications. Also, a phone consult to a doctor to script you for the procedure(s) you are requiring is done at the same time.

• Slight redness, marks, or bumps may appear, fading within 24 to 48 hours

• Avoid excess heat i.e. intense activities, exercise, spas and saunas for 24 hours post treatment

• Refrain from excessive massage or rubbing of the treated area(s)

• Avoid using products containing retinoids, BHA/AHA’s, or other potentially irritating ingredients until redness or swelling has subsided post treatment

• Avoid touching or rubbing the treated area immediately after treatment as it could potentially introduce bacteria or irritate the injection sites

• Light makeup can be applied 24 hours post treatment but avoid heavy makeup that can irritate the skin for 3-4 days until the skin has settled down from multiple injection sites

• Avoid taking blood thinning medications (e.g. Ibuprofen, Aspirin) or supplements (e.g. fish oil, vitamin E) for 24-48 hrs post Rejuran injections, as they can increase the risk of bruising or bleeding at the injection sites

Some individuals may experience temporary skin changes such as swelling, redness, itching, dryness flaking or papules following treatment. These generally resolve within 24-48 hours.

Risks and side effects associated with Rejuran treatment include:

• Lumps and bumps, which may look like mosquito bites which usually subside within 24 to 48 hours after injecting

• Bruising and swelling may occur, typically resolving within a few days

• Infection is rare, follow your post procedure instructions to reduce the risk

• Allergy reactions are rare

The number of Rejuran treatments need can vary between individuals depending on specific concerns being addressed and the health condition of the skin. Rejuran works by activating the skin’s own regenerative ability to restore its own collagen structure and increase skin elasticity.

It is recommended a course of 3 treatments with 2-4 week intervals between sessions, followed by maintenance treatments every 6-12 months to nurture a healthy skin condition.

Many patients notice initial improvement in skin texture, elasticity, and overall appearance within a few weeks after their second session. These results continue to improve over the following months.
